 Abstract

This paper examined the problems beginner teachers face when teaching EFL in secondary schools. The study investigated the classroom managements procedures used by EFL Saudi beginner teachers. The study raised three questions. The first one was “What problems do EFL beginner teachers have?” the second one was “what is the level of the problems that related to Behavioral and Instructional Management?” In addition, the third one asked, “How can we build a bridge between classroom language and classroom management? The study used the historical and descriptive-analytical approach. About 50 beginner secondary school teachers participated in this study. A 33-item questionnaire was distributed to 50 EFL teachers. The results showed that most of the problems new trainees faced were related to the orientation of the classroom style. Moreover, the results concluded that beginner teachers did not involve in the training program in advance. Therefore, the study mostly recommended that beginner teachers should be involved in intensive training courses ensuring the use of classroom management correctly and build their classroom language.
